PACIFIC OCEAN (August 17, 2010) – Civilian and military officials from Singapore observe flight operations aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73). They toured the ship and visited the flight deck, bridge, flight deck control and the medical department to get a better understanding of carrier operations. George Washington returned to sea Aug. 16 after a port visit to Singapore. George Washington, the Navy’s only full time forward-deployed aircraft carrier, is currently underway helping to ensure security and stability in the western Pacific Ocean.
