The Strategist Air Force will officially retire its remaining C-130Hs on 30 November 2012. Ahead of the type's retirement from service, the aircraft with the distinctive commemorative tail artwork flew over the Blue Mountains, the NSW Coast and Sydney Harbour area, acknowledging the strong links the C-130H has held with these communities since the first of 12 aircraft arrived at RAAF Base Richmond in July of 1978.
