Several hundred personnel from the 7th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment, Combined Team Uruzgan, Force Support Unit 7, the Counter Rocket Artillery Mortar detachment, Force Communications Unit 8, Shadow Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Group 2, Multi National Base Command Tarin Kot, Special Operations Task Group, Provincial Reconstruction Team and Defence and Government civilians attended the dawn service. They paid a solemn tribute to personnel who had died on operations, including the 39 Australian soldiers who had fallen in Afghanistan since 2002.
