A large flight of RAN helicopters conduct a flypast of the Re-enactment Fleet proceeds past the reviewing ship HMAS Leeuwin, all the while the a Seahawk proudly displays the Australian White Ensign to the spectators of the Ceremonial Fleet Review. *** Local Caption *** Her Excellency, the Honourable Quentin Bryce, AC, CVO, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia received a Royal Salute from the 37 warships berthed around Sydney Harbour during the Royal Australian Navy’s Ceremonial Fleet Review.

His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales joined the Governor-General onboard reviewing ship HMAS Leeuwin for the official inspection of the ships. Also embarked on Leeuwin was Prime Minister of Australia, The Honourable Tony Abbott MP and Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, AO, CSC, RAN.

In her role of Reviewing Officer, the Governor General received a Royal Salute from each warship, which “manned and cheered ship” to show respect.

The International Fleet Review (IFR) commemorated the centenary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet into Sydney Harbour on 4 October 1913. It was the nation’s most significant commemorative naval event in the past 100 years.
