(L-R) Leader of the Opposition Bill Shorten and Prime Minister Tony Abbott lay wreaths as a mark of respect to the fallen during the Recognition Ceremony at Multi-National Base – Tarin Kot. *** Local Caption *** A Recognition Ceremony at Multi National Base – Tarin Kot formally acknowledged the contribution of Australia and its coalition partners to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Uruzgan.

The ceremony also recognised the achievements of the Provincial Reconstruction Team which concluded its presence in the province after operating in Uruzgan since 2004.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Defence Minister Senator David Johnston and the Chief of the Defence Force, General David Hurley joined representatives from Afghanistan, the United States, Netherlands, New Zealand, France, Singapore and Slovakia for the ceremony on October 28.
