Submissions Policy
At The Strategist, we welcome submissions of around 600–800 words of considered analysis, book reviews, statistics or graphs related to defence and strategic policy. We’ll accept longer pieces but may, in consultation with the author, publish them serially.
We will reject any material that doesn’t further the discussion of defence and strategic policy, is in poor taste, which contravenes Australian defamation or vilification laws, or for any other reason that, in the judgement of the editorial staff, the content is deemed inappropriate for publishing.
The Strategist‘s style and formatting are adapted from The New York Times. If you’d like to know about the Strategist style, check out our Style Guide here (PDF).

Comments Policy
The Strategist encourages responses to posts, either in the form of short remarks, or in the form of additional blog posts of our standard length, which will be subject to the same conditions for submissions as outlined above.
All comments will be directed to the editors, and we’ll consider them for publication subject to the same editorial quality control mechanisms as longer posts. Wherever possible, the author(s) of the comment will be provided with the edited form in advance of publication.
Readers, please disclose any commercial relationships, affiliations or potential conflicts of interest.
